About Me – January 24, 2023

Hello! My name is Cindy, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to spend time with you today. Please allow me to introduce myself.

First, I’m a sinner saved by grace – a grace that sustains when all else fails.

Second, I’m a wife and mother of adult children who I had the honor to homeschool from their early elementary years through graduation. I’m a Research Chemist by trade, a lifelong learner following wherever my fancies take me, and an artist and photographer. My current obsessions include herbal medicine, Fair Isle Tunisian crochet, and creating digital art.

One of my deepest and longest held desires has been to be a writer. I wrote and illustrated my first (and, alas, only) book at around age 5. It was called Adley the Penguin. I’m hoping to lay hands on it again as I work my way through many years of keepsakes – I put it where I would know where it was (which naturally means that now I can’t find it). I began this blog a lifetime ago, back in 2009, out of this desire.

Life and the Lord have brought me through a complete upheaval and rearrangement of my circumstances since that time, but this desire has never left me. Whenever there’s something I really want to do, my husband usually says something like, “Well, do it! What’s stopping you? What do you need?” Then, in my morning prayer time not long ago, I felt reminded of this long-neglected blog, and heard the still, small voice saying “If you want to write, who says you have to write a novel? You have a blog…”

Feeling like I had a mandate, so to speak, that afternoon I began the process of moving this blog to a new platform and updating the content. I hope you’ll find many of my older posts as applicable to life today as they were when I originally wrote them – maybe even more so! I also pray you will find my new content useful and informative.

To learn more about my journey, I’ve created a category called The Long Road Back where I am filling in the gaps in my story.

The most important message I hope you take away from here is this: if you don’t have a relationship with Jesus, now is the time to meet him. If you know him but haven’t been living for him, now is the time to dedicate yourself to him. Our time here is short, and every breath is a gift. If you’d like to know more, please allow me the opportunity to speak with you about the most important decision you’ll ever make.

I hope you will walk down this path with me. Maybe we can blaze a new trail.

There is joy on this journey, on my way home to my Father’s house,

Cindy <><
